The episode opens with Ayeka remembering a field of flowers and Yosho. Then she runs toward him only for him to change into Tenchi and tell her Yosho has died.

After she wakes up she looks out the window and sees Ryoko walking out toward the lake. Ryoko walks across the surface of the lake to the center. She then descends to the wreckage of both her and Ayeka's ships. Ryoko retrieves an egg from the wreckage of her ship and returns to the house.

Ryoko shows the egg to Sasami and tells her that it is Tenchi's baby. This makes Ayeka mad and she runs out of the room. Ayeka bumps into Tenchi's grandfather and sees that his eyes are the color as Yosho's but dismisses it as coincidence and runs outside.

Ryoko hands the egg to Tenchi and it begins to hatch. Tenchi freaks out and drops the egg and out comes Ryo-Ohki. Ryoko then explains that Ryo-Ohki is her ship reborn after being destroyed. Ryo-Ohki runs outside to Ayeka who is crying. Ayeka tries to get away from Ryo-Ohki but notices a rare Jurain flower. Ryo-Ohki then leads Ayeka to the place where Tenchi and his grandfather practicing swordplay routines. Ayeka sees a startling resemblance to the routines of the Julian's. While watching Ayeka falls down and twists her ankle. Tenchi's grandfather tells him to carry her back to the house. On the way however it starts to rain.

Back in the house Ryoko searches Ayeka's room hoping to find Tenchi's sword which he returned to her. Ryoko is forced to leave when Sasami comes looking for Ayeka. After seeking shelter in a storage shed, Tenchi and Ayeka spend a special moment together (damn I like Ryoko more than Ayeka). This is the first time Ryo-Ohki is given a carrot.
