Zero is Dr. Clay's favorite invention. It has the ability to
assume the form of any person it comes in contact with. And thus serves as
Clay's field operative. Zero, however, against all odds, develops emotions due to the
forms and memories it has copied. These emotions lead Zero to begin to question
Lady Tokimi both in her commands to Clay and her very existence. Zero assumes the form of Ryoko in order to capture Washu for
Clay. With Ryoko's emotions and love of Tenchi Zero is rendered incapable of
capturing Washu. Whenever Zero approaches Washu, Tenchi appears and Zero becomes
infatuated quite like Ryoko does. Zero is eventually ordered to eliminate Tenchi. This causes the a break in
Zero's programming and ultimately leads to Zero turning on Clay. Zero is
severely damaged by Clay. Washu saves Zero by combing her with Ryoko. This
results in a Ryoko who is more open to her feelings at least till the end of the
episode. Ryoko returns to normal in the next episode. |
