Dr. Clay was once a student at the Science Academy the same as
Washu once was. In fact, they were classmates and are arch rivals. Clay detests
Washu and blames her because he was driven from the Academy because he did not
care for his creations. Dr. Clay acts as a servant for Lady Tokimi. He is told to
capture Washu and bring her to Lady Tokimi in exchange for control over an
entire galaxy. Clay obeys and begins a grand plan of using his favorite creation
Zero to capture Washu. Clay orders Zero to take on the form and memory of Ryoko
which Zero does but Zero copies all of Ryoko's memory including her love of
Tenchi. When Clay sees that Tenchi has distracted Zero he orders her to
kill Tenchi. This order forces Zero to turn against Ryoko's emotions. However,
Zero was unable to kill Tenchi and returned to Clay. Upon Zero's return Dr. Clay
prepared for the inevitable arrival of Washu. After his defeat at the hands of Washu, Clay attempted to return to Lady
Tokimi but was captured by Mihoshi and the Galaxy Police. While in a holding
cell at Galaxy Police Headquarters, Clays memory of Tokimi was blocked from him. |
